Can't get wireless laptop to connect

Kristen (and others),

I'm sorry you're experiencing trouble with Vista. There are a couple of
factors which might be causing this behavior. First, your router may not be
Vista compatible. Check to make sure it displays the Vista logo on the box.
There might be a firmware update to the router to bring it into compliance.
Another cause might be an outdated network adapter driver.

Please post back with the outcomes.

Wow! You are suggesting that all of us with routers that don't display
the Vista logo had better run out and buy a new router?
That doesn't say much for Vista, does it...

i just bought a laptop i want to share the internet connection with
another laptop is it possible to share network wirles with two laptop
without cable conection.

I had the exact same problem. Day one laptop connected fine. Day two won't connect with no response from router message. Confused because my desktop was still connecting wirelessly fine. However, saw in another forum that someone with this problem changed the channel that the router was set to and it worked fine. Thought why not I've got nothing to lose and did the same (changed from channel 11 to channel 6). Guess what? Laptop immediately connected to the router and desktop connection noticeably faster!!
