I have 7 svchost.exe running. 3 are under the user name "system" others
are under "network service" and "local service". Why so many, and will
the Windows 7 change the number of Process running? Thank you for your
help.

It's perfectly normal to have several instances of Svchost.exe
running simultaneously.

A Description of Svchost.exe in Windows XP

However, if Svchost.exe is using a large portion of your CPU
cycles, it may well have been "hijacked" by a worm, Trojan, or scumware.
To determine if this is the case, use your preferred antivirus and
spyware applications to scan for problems.

Just for grins do a search on your harddrive for svchost.exe. Look for the
directories that come up. If any of the files are in a directory other than
System32 or Prefetch than this could be the problem.
