How can i get the touchpad on my Toshiba laptop to work when i unplug the usb
mouse? I have installed usb mouse as daughter prefers external mouse, but
when i unplug it to use the synaptics mousepad the mousepad doesn't work!!!

Extremely frustrating! Can anyone please advise? (Don't want to uninstall

Not all systems have the touchpad enabled automatically, for instance, on my
HP there is a button that allows you to activate and deactivate the touchpad.

Go to Control Panel > Mouse then click on Device Settings and in the window
should be the touchpad listed, under enabled does it say yes or no. If it
says no then the enabled button underneath should be available.

I can fix that.
Here's how:
Start > Control Panel > Mouse > Hardware > Enable Touchpad > Apply
Thats for an IBM Computer (windows xp)

Here's for a Toshiba (windows xp)
Start > Control Panel > Mouse > Device Settings > Click On name of
touchpad > Click Enable > Apply
Either one of those should work on your Laptop or Desktop

Try this on any computer.
