Post subject: Halo: Combat Evolved

I have Vista Home Premium. I am the administrator. I can't play multiplayer
because a patch is required and a box pops up telling me "Administrator
privileges are needed to download this patch." Why is this happening? and can
it be resolved?

right click on the exe/patch file and select 'run as administrator'

This is just one of Vista's ways to stop unauthorized programs or
alien applications from installing unknown or unwanted software.
So by right clicking and selecting..you are giving Vista a go...

have you tried tweaking the User Account Control by turning it off so you
will have full administrative rights..

I have the same problem. I think it doesn't have to do with the
computers administrator.

All you have to do is right click on the halo icon and click run as
administrator it should hopefully work now hope i could help
