Try marking the message as read and then deleting it.

Close Windows Mail
Click Start > Search > Advanced Search
Location = Everywhere
Place a check in "Include non-indexed, hidden, and system files"
Name = (type) WindowsMail.MSMessageStore

When completed, you should only see 2 instances
Highlight, right-click and select: Delete
Ok any prompts, close Search and restart WinMail

Thanks, Mike, that fixed it. It required a lot more manual work afterwards
than I had anticipated, but it worked.

I have a message that I am unable to delete. When I click on the message i
get a error message that states an Unkown error has occured. It will not let
me delete the message from my inbox.

When I open the message I get a message that states my computer that is less
than 1 month old is low memory or low disk space which is impossible since i
have not used it for anything or put any new programs on it.

I can send and recieve emails.

The message is from Noesnm Kaufman with a subject [SPAM] her cry. It was
recieved at 5:51 am on 4-11-07.

I have run Macfee Virus scan and it is not reading it as a virus or threat.

Any info would be helpful.

I tried the search you had discussed and it did not work, or I am not
capable of doing it correctly.

Thank You.

So, don't click on the undeletable message.
Leave well enough alone.
Microsoft will come out with a fix eventually.

You can lower your risk of getting more stuck messages by
uninstalling McAfee. See http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

Mike- I have one e mail in an in box cannot delete--tried your system below
and I got "4 instances/ files" (after search was done).

I do not know what that means... and you indicated that I should delete all
instances? What will that do...will I lose all my e mail personal folders?
thanks

You should have only two instances of the file WindowsMail.MSMessageStore.
Were the two extra ones in a different location?

What's wrong with that?
McAfee and Norton are bad for Vista (actually for any version of Windows)
and even worse for WinMail, which they are guaranteed to screw up.

What is the solution? How do I get rid of the message?

Yes--went back and searched again--they were from a location from my kids log
in account...so what do I lose when I delete these two 4MB files?(under my
login)
